Crafting for a good cause

Alice Lipscombe-Southwell, Deputy Production Editor

Here at Cardmaking & Papercraft we love to try and promote all the ways that cardmakers can use their skills for a good cause.

Everyone knows someone who has been affected by cancer, and it's a cruel disease - it can strike the old, the young, the healthy and the unwell. It's not all bad news though. Many people beat it and go on to lead full and happy lives.

It's down to the charities, hospices and researchers that treatment is getting better all the time. We have a lot to thank them for and they do an absolutely sterling job. That's why in issue 83 of Cardmaking & Papercraft (the current issue on the newsstands) we featured a brand new digi stamp set by Nutcrafters.

The collection costs just £4 to buy and £2 from every purchase goes towards Breast Cancer Awareness. It's a gorgeous set and just right for girly makes and birthdays for all ages! It's been really popular so far; why not buy the collection today and print it off as much as you wish, then get busy decoupaging, colouring, glittering and embellishing with it.

We'd love to see what you make, so please send any of your fabulous designs to our email address at writetous@cardmakingandpapercraft.com

Have fun!

Bio

I'm the Deputy Production Editor at Cardmaking & Papercraft. I work hard to scour the shops and websites to find you the very best products for your favourite hobby. Stamping is my fave technique and I'm slowly working on my technique with ProMarkers. One of the best bits of the job is opening all the gorgeous emails and letters from readers to see what you've come up with. If you have any hot tips and stories I'd love to hear about them, so feel free to drop me a message!

cancer and charity cards

I love making cards,  and, as a 2 time survivor I enjoy making charity cards to give a little bit back... I usually give the cards to a cancer or hospice shop so that they get the full money from the sales.  I also have to say that the charities are always grateful, no matter how big or small your donations are.
