A few queries....

Postby Geordie » Sat May 23, 2009 9:29 pm

Hi

Is it possible to buy a glue pen that you can write wording with in the same way as you do a normal pen - so you can
then sprinkle glitter on ?

I was also wondering whether you can buy pens that give a raised pearlescent effect ?

Finally - where is the cheapest place to buy craft supplies - is EBAY good ? For things like gemstones I have seen packets which don't seem to contain that many in craft shops - yet on EBAY people are selling hundreds for half the price.

I'm just learning so would appreciate any help...

Thanks

Louise

I would say the quickie glue pen is what you would need for writing.
Sakura gel pens set slightly raised but I'm not sure what colours they have.

I buy some craft goods from ebay but I also find them just as cheap in Wilkinsons, Poundland, Home bargains, Tesco, ASDA, The Range and some on-line stores

Hope this helps

I have never tried glitter and writing but have used the little stickles glitter glue for accents - they are quite fine.

Definitely check out other places than craft shops, and you might get yourself some cheaper things - even places like the Early Learning Centre might be worth a look. Haberdashery market stalls worth a look too.

Yep, the glue pens are perfect for what you need.

Yep, you can buy pens that write 3D (raised) the Sakura ones are nice - raised enough to give a border if you're colouring in the sections but not too high or lumpy but there are other makes.

Re buying gems, etc. EBay's ok but not always the cheapest you have to keep your eye on how much they are charging for postage because a lot of them make their money this way.

I usually watch out for offers and I try to buy from sites with low or (even better) free P&P.

Good luck.
