Looking for a faux shearling/sheepskin fabric for cards

Postby Raechel_Louise » Mon Jan 30, 2012 1:15 pm

Hi There,

I am looking to make a few cards with sheep on the front, but am struggling to find the right fabric to make them from.

I would like something which looks like shearling or sheepskin, but obviously don't want to spend a fortune and only need a small amount. I would usually buy a lot of my bits and bobs like this from eBay but can't seem to find the right thing.

Does anyoen have any idea's or suggestions on what to use and where's best to buy?

Thanks in advance! :)

You could try the stuff used to line jackets a while back. A charity shop or jumble sale might yield a jacket you could use. Most charity shops get given stuff that is too old to sell as well as good stuff and the unsaleable stuff is often bagged and sold by the bag to people who collect rags for industrial use. If you ask you might get lucky and be able to get something from a rejected torn garment. If they don't charge make a small donation into their collecting box.
