Hello Everyone,

I am having a little trouble with my stamps and my Ink, it doesn't show up on my paper as much as I press on the ink. Also what sort of colouring pens/pencils are good for colouring in the design when it is printed on the paper.

[:)] Hi welcome to the forum!! I'm rubbish with inks. I usually throw clear embossing powder over anything so to be sure nothing smudges or blurs. I've used the Versa fine on my Bently Bear stamps. At the moment I'm using a least 120-160gsm paper and 260-300gsm card. I use Versa and colour-box and StazOn. I use Memento with my Promakers. I have 'Ink it up' and 'whispers' inks, but quite honestly hardly ever use them (maybe the gold and silver at Christmas) These days I don't use any other colouring other than my Promakers. If you have new clear stamps, sometimes it's best to give them a soapy wash in warm water (with washing up liquid) as they have a sort of newness on them and they don't stamp too well the first time...or, you could just keep stamping onto a bit of scrap to get the 'newness' off them. My last DoCraft clear stamps didn't stamp to well at first, but aren't too bad now.

Thank you for your lovelyy suggestions but I am not sure what i am ment to do with my embossing powder and I only have yellow and blue not clear (it came in a pack). Thank you for all your help,

[:)] Ah! first thing, get some clear embossing power, you'll find it's the only one you'll use...(well, it's the only one I use most of and buy in big jars and keep in a plastic tub)) you can use it on all your colour inks, okay, there's some very dry inks you don't use it on, but if you're still learning,you'll never remember, (I still don't) if you use an ink that takes ages, years- to dry, throw your embossing power over it, shake it off (put it back in the pot, it only uses a little bit) and then, you'll need to heat set it... with a proper craft heat gun, great fun, if you haven't got one of them, that's your next buy!!

Thank you, how much will one of these proper craft heat guns cost me and will they do them at Hobbycraft?

Anything from £12-ish to about £23 I should think. I would go on line and shop around. Mine came from DoCrafts, at the time they were doing a deal, and it came with embossing 3 powers and 3 inks.
