I use silicone glue or a hot glue gun and you only need a small spot , I find this the best way. :)

If glue doestn't work try putting a few stitches over each end of the string to hold it in place

Hello,
I am new to posting here and from the US. I have read before in mag that you use silicone glue...ok, so I am thinking silicone from hardware store? Got a funny feeling that is not what you ladies mean. What would the name be of silicone glue please? Many thanks.

:) I would try Silicone glue, seems to be the best solution. Mind how much you use though. Try applying either with syringe or cocktail stick. Good luck. Pat B.

I rarely use silicone glue myself but I am sure I have seen it in the craft store on my local USAF Base. (I'm British and living in the UK but I am a USAF widow). You would not find the right kind in a hardware store though on either side of the Big Pond. You need a craft store or online store. Try a Google search or ebay. Good luck.

Thanks BusyBee!!
I didn't think it would be from hardware store, that stuff just didn't seem to work. ;)
Will do a google for silicone glue.

Hi Ruth,

To attach chunky embellishments like rhinestones or buttons, I use a small dab of Aleene's Fast Grab Tacky Glue in the purple bottle which is extra thick and gooey, and dries clear (the Tacky Glue in the gold bottle is second best, it's just not as thick). As long as you don't go overboard with it, it won't warp your cardstock.
