Uploading cards

Postby lilbuddha » Sun Jan 29, 2012 11:09 am

Am trying to upload some cards but I get a message saying the file is too big. How do I make the file smaller?
Step by step instructiments would be most welcome as I'm not the most technically minded of people...
Thanks
xx

Just noticed no-one has tried to help you out. I'm no expert but if you have Microsoft Picture Manager you can do it my way. Open your picture and click on Pictures, then on Compress and the look on the right hand side and click on web pages and OK. You will see a smaller version of your picture in the centre of the screen. I then click on file and save as and give it a name with -cpd on the end. That's my abbreviation for compressed and tells me later which version I can upload on here. You could keep the number of the big picture and give it a -xxx of your own. I then close the window and then I'm told there are changes that have not been saved I click on Don't Save. This way your folder will still have a full size picture that you can use for other purposes. If you click on save it turns that into a compressed form as well. I found that out the hard way and could not recover my big picture without going back to the camera.

Are you running windows on your pc. If so go to their website and look for image resizer and install it. ;)
Once installed right click photo and it should say resize image. I resize mine to handheld. Then you should be able to use the smaller version on photo to put on here.

I have Windows Vista. I suspect the Image Resizer is on Windows 7...

Just had a look on the net. if u put in the search bar- resizing photos with windows vista there is a program at the top which may be of use to you (called avs image converter). DS1 has just said you could try resizing in photoshop.
