I'm a single mum of 3. At the moment I volunteer in school in the mornings then in the afternoon I try and get some crafting done. One day I might cut out decoupage pieces all afternoon and put them into envelopes ready to make up. The next day I might make up the decoupage then once it's dry I put them in a box ready to put onto cards. In the evenings I tend to lose the table to the kids doing homework or to one of my daughters so that she can make cards or do some sort of crafting. At the weekends we can sometimes be seen together at the table making cards :)

Craftymumof3.........you sound very organised :-)

I do have some card making times with my daughter too. She is very creative and I usually give her the blank cards and she draws pictures etc and colours in depending on who it's for. I am planning to do more of that with her as it means I can make some cards at the same time.

Thanks for your reply.

Hi there. I have my craft space at one end of a spare bedroom. It's a long narrow room at the front of the house. It has a sloping ceiling which has called some difficulties fitting things in. Have to keep one end as a bedroom as one of my sons, DIL and grandsons live in Leeds and when they visit they generally stay.
You can see my space on my blog if you would like a peep.

I craft whenever I get some time to spare. It also depends on how much I have to do as well. I usually try and do housework in the mornings and if I have any time I will do some in the afternoon. I look after my GD on Mon and Tues afternoon. also go to sugarcraft class on Tues mornings and cardmaking class on Sat morning. Also go up to Leeds to see DS and family and down to Somerset to visit my Mum and sister. So as and when. I am retired now so do have more time than some.

You work full time or part-time? Do you have children? When mine were young and cardmaking one one hit or miss thing Gadgets, when I can participate in this process.

It's a good question, whenever I make a 'craft' mark in my diary something else seems to take over :( However I started when I was unemployed and can't shake the habit now so make whenever I can - have been known to pull all nighters before a craft fair! Loved your blog Copper Beech, I did start one myself but am so disorganised and about to up my hours at work so am putting that idea to one side for now, it is a lovely way to share your creative works so will keep an eye on it.... :)

I know what you mean about the hassle of carrying stuff from here to there and back again. I had a Big Shot but it had to live under the table in the study when not in use. I hardly ever used it. In the end I sold it and bought a Cuttlebug - so compact when not in use it could sit on the dining room windowsill and look neat. I'd used it more in the first six weeks than the Big Shot in two years - just because it was easy to get at. Sounds as though your ideal would be to find some way of storing your stuff downstairs so you could get at it easily when the kitchen table is free and hubby is in bed.

I haven't made cards for months as it is summer here and I have a vegetable garden. I plan on making one this evening however as my daughter turns 40 this Friday...she will be "expecting" a hand made from her Mum for sure!! Winter is the perfect season for me and I can't wait!!

Summer! I wish! We are just entering Spring and it is finally warming up, and with it the usual round of stinking colds. Enjoy the sun.

Day, I may cut out the paper-cut works all afternoon, in an envelope ready to make up for them.
